Tara Midnight Star:
Tara or Tar baby, our 5 year old Black Cocker Spaniel.
Tara adopted us when she was just barely 12 weeks old. She had to play second fiddle to our then 12 year Old Buff Princess. But it didn’t take long for her to learn the tricks from her elder, and when her time came to step up to the #1 position, she did with every bit of attitude and grace she could muster. Don’t let her size fool ya, she may be the smallest but Tara rules the roost!
Tara and Peppers dad gave us her first litter at 3 years old. 7 pups in 1 litter is not common in Cocker Spaniels, but Tara is a natural mother!
Sergeant Pepper of Tara’s Guard:
Peppers or Srg. is our 3 year old black and white Cocker Spaniel.
It was love at first sight with Jim and Pepper, or at least we thought. By the time we got home with him, he had captured Shannon’s heart also. Pepper is our protector, he’s the first one at the door to great us and always makes sure we know he loves us!
Tara and Pepper gave us Tara second litter just about the time she turned 4. Only 6 babies this time, but was much easier since she had Pepper to help care for her family. After the 2nd week, Tara took the night shift, and Pepper took the day shift unless it was feeding time. It was truly amazing to watch.
Lady Hayzzel of Yellowstone:
Grumpess or Butt Nut is our 2 year old red and buff Cocker Spaniel.
Grumpess (nick-named by our dear friend Bart in Boise) comes by her nick-name honestly. From the moment she was born she has always looked grumpy! Even at 12 weeks old, we wondered if she would EVER grow into her face. Jim nick-named her Butt Nut because of her Clown antics! She is about as nutty as they come and never misses out on a chance to make ya laugh. She like Tara, is learning from her elders, and has it figured out that if she gets to bed before Tara, chances are she gets the middle.
Mr. Gavin:
Mo-Hawk Boy is our 5 year old Cock-a-poo.
Mo-Hawk Boy came to us in the spring of 2006. His prior family asked us to take him because of their housing issues. He had culture shock when meeting the rest of the family, but soon learned to fit in and NEVER gives up a chance for lap time! He comes by his nick-name by means of Shannon and the clippers. Some people really should not be aloud sharp objects!
